Quickest Stalemate !!

Stalemate is a situation in the game of chess where the player whose turn it is to move is not in check but has no legal moves. A stalemate ends the game in a draw

What is more powerful - bishop or knight in chess?

Although each has a point value of 3 points neither is considered the most powerful . The Knight can turn an opponent's flank and pass over/through other chess pieces and is powerful in this respect whereas the Bishop can command an open diagonal . (I , personally , regard the Knight as more powerful because of the previously stated reasons.) !!

Origin of chess - India !!

Origin of chess - India
Ashtapad-The original game invented in India
Chess had originated in India and from there traveled to China and also through Arab world to Europe. There are historical references that in India chess was used as a tool to teach military strategy to Indian princes. That is probably how chess acquired its nickname: the Royal Game.

The game Chaturanga probably evolved into its current form around 600 AD during the Gupta Empire in India. In the 7th century, it was adopted as Shatranj in Sassanid Persia, which in turn was the form that brought chess to late-medieval Europe. Sanskrit caturaṅga is abahuvrihi compound, meaning "having four limbs or parts" and in epic poetry often means "army". The name itself comes from a battle formation mentioned in the Indian epic Mahabharata, referring to four divisions of an army, viz. elephants, chariots, cavalry, andinfantry.Chaturanga was played on an 8x8 uncheckered board, called Ashtāpada....

Doubles Chess !!

The first Thought - This is the most important of all chess tips.!!

After your opponent has moved, what do you think first? Many people think they are the center of the earth and that planet earth is evolving around them. They only think about themselves and in which way they can overrun the opponent. The opponent simply doesn't exist in their minds and they only worry about their own moves and plans.
Some players might even think how great they are and that they are going to win just because they have the higher rating. This arrogant attitude will be punished in a chess game in no time at all.

If you think first about yourself and your own moves and possibilities, after your opponent has moved, then it is time to change this way of thinking completely or you will never become a good player. You are going to lose many games just because of your attitude.
